Our University Hosts an Important Event on the Transformation of Academic Studies through Digitalization and Technological Advancements
Our university hosted a significant event addressing the transformation of academic studies through digitalization and technological progress. The seminar, titled “How is Artificial Intelligence Used in Academic Studies?” was presented by Dr. İnanç Alikılıç, a faculty member of the Applied Sciences Faculty, and held at the 1071 Malazgirt Congress and Culture Center. Our rector, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Alican, as well as numerous academic staff members and students, participated in the seminar.
Dr. İnanç Alikılıç emphasized that artificial intelligence is causing revolutionary changes in academic studies today, noting how these technologies are profoundly transforming research processes. His presentation examined in detail the opportunities AI tools offer in areas such as data analysis, literature review, article writing, data mining, and drawing conclusions. He highlighted how AI provides speed and accuracy, particularly in analyzing big data sets and developing rapid solutions to complex research problems, allowing researchers to save time and creating a more efficient scientific process.
Dr. Alikılıç also underscored that AI tools minimize the margin of error in scientific studies, playing a crucial role in enhancing academic productivity and contributing to the literature. He discussed AI solutions in scientific publication processes, including article recommendation systems and journal selection. Dr. Alikılıç shared practical examples on how academics could effectively use these tools.
The Integration of Artificial Intelligence into Academic Studies
Dr. Alikılıç’s presentation offered not only theoretical insights but also practical guidance on using AI technologies in academic research. By demonstrating examples of AI-supported software and applications, he showed participants how to integrate these tools into literature reviews, data analysis, and academic writing processes. He emphasized that these tools, which enable academic research to be conducted more quickly, efficiently, and systematically, will become widely used in the academic world in the future.
Dr. Alikılıç pointed out that in data-driven research, AI algorithms can analyze vast amounts of data within a short time, surpassing human capacity. Thus, projects that once required long periods with human resources could now be completed more quickly and accurately with AI. He predicted that this would increase competition in the academic world while simultaneously raising the quality of research.
