On September 9, 2024, an informative seminar on substance addiction was held in the Department of Information Systems and Technologies, where Vice Dean and Department Chair Dr. İnanç Alikılıç and Vice Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Yaşar provided valuable awareness to students. The seminar emphasized the need to strengthen societal awareness in the fight against addiction, discussing the negative impacts of substance use on youth and society in detail. Dr. Alikılıç highlighted that addiction is not merely an individual issue but a multidimensional threat with social implications, stressing the importance of a healthy lifestyle and becoming resilient individuals.
This event aimed to equip students with the capacity to make informed decisions, drawing attention to the significance of addiction awareness and the necessity of social solidarity. As the Department of Information Systems and Technologies, we are mindful of our responsibilities in combating addiction and plan to continue similar awareness initiatives.
